order here

at Starbucks:

"I'll have a 'For Here, Grande, Non-Fat, Sweetened with two Splendas, No Water, 180 Degrees, Extra Foam, Tazo® Chai Tea Latte' in ceramic, please"
P/S: how in hell do you make a drink without water?

at mamaks:

"Mamak! 'teh tarik panas, kurang manis, tarik lebih' satu. minum aa"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

at Starbucks:

"I'll have a 'to go,Double Ristretto Venti, Nonfat, Organic Chocolate Brownie Frappuccino, Extra Hot with Foam and Whipped Cream Upside Down Double Blended' with the cup half-capped, please"

at mamaks:

"ne, 'neslo panas, kosong, tarik lebih' satu. bungkus, ikat tepi, letak straw aa"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
no wonder there is always a long line in Starbucks (just passing by), and not many people. and no wonder people are always late with Starbucks in their hands. because by the time you finished ordering, it's 'time's up' for you to get to work or wherever.

instead, if you go to a local mamak, you'd get a more caffeinated coffee with taste so rich, it'll keep you going the whole day. and besides, no chai latte can beat mamak's teh tarik. don't you agree? plus, it is way cheaper than the "designer" coffees.

still opting for Starbucks?

no water means the jet foamed schemed milk is used along with coffee brew and no fresh water is added along with the drink.

and how the hell one can actually order a frap and a ristretto together in a drink?

the appreciation for coffee is only limited to certain people who enjoy it. it may be common to drink a cup of coffee, but only a few recognize the beans from their taste and their aroma.

you tell me.

these are the examples that i got. real ones that is.

yeah, i know you would know.

you MUST try the local coffee that i mentioned before. i can only find it in Kedah and the taste is beyond designer coffees.

i did. kopi haji/ustaz something something. the usual caramelizing method using coal-fired oven at controlled temperature. beans used are blend of arabica and javanese robusta with a hint of small amount of libraca. turns out to be pitch black in color with strong aroma. the aftertaste was a bit strong but the caramel taste lessen the effect slowly. good coffee.

technically, you can still order ristretto and frappucino as one drink. this is because ristretto is a normal espresso shot that is stopped after 15 seconds, as compared to the usual shot that is stopped after 20 seconds, giving it a more bold character.

frappucino is just a term for coffee-based milkshake.

the drink is possible.

but i wouldn't care. i don't go there no more ;)
