after the stint with the crazy prof, i couldn't careless about his opinions. clearly, he is a very redundant person and many people know that. it is just that others are too afraid to challenge him. well, i am not being rebellious or ARROGANT as he would say. i am just being me and i most of the time stand up to my rights. so, now, i made that particular day as a passing fart: it is there for one moment, it stinks, then it is forgotten. i didn't learn anything from his "counselling session" with me. but what i do learn is, he is just another grain of sand on the shore: no one cares about him.
the next morn however, out lecturer, dr. savariraj (i hope i got his name right), who use to be the district health officer of daerah kuala muda (or he still is, i am not too sure), came in to give us a lecture. since we were going to have a health campaign for the villagers, i approached him for some pamphlets. a few mins after the lecture was done, he came back. and nice enough of him to give me the pamphlets that i requested for. he also did personally give me a piece of paper that writes "THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF SUCCESS". really sweet of him, don't you think.
i am standing by this now and i want to share it with you guys.
here goes......
1. SPEAK TO PEOPLE: there is nothing as nice as a cheerful greeting
2. BE GENEROUS with praise - cautious with criticism....
3. SMILE : it takes 72 muscles to frown - only 14 to smile
4. BE CONSIDERATE with the feelings of others, it will be appreciated....
5. BE THOUGHTFUL of the opinions of others. There are 3 sides to any controversy - yours, the other person's, and the right one .
7. SPEAK AND ACT as if everything you do were a genuine pleasure....
8. BE GENUINELY interested in people.....
9. CALL PEOPLE BY NAME: everyone is pleased when you remember their name
10. BE FRIENDLY and HELPFUL: and others will respond in like manner....
