Hospital Pantai Utara
the last time i was in a private hospital, i remembered that i was put in a suite, with my own sitting area for my guests, my own flat screen, my own toilet, my own everything. my brother and sisters who are always there to keep me company even brought the PSII to play and some DVDs as well as the room has its own DVD player.
that is my impression of a private hospital.
but this, this is totally new. i mean, regardless that i was placed in a 4-beds room, the furniture were so damn old! i mean, even HSAH has better furnitures. look at the bed! i can't believe that Pantai is like this. even the chair for PAPs in HSAH are cushioned and big enough to be comfortable. but here, they only provide plastic chairs.
when i first came in, i saw the OPD clinics and i was impressed. you know why? because that area is newly renovated and everything was lovely, exactly how a private hospital should be. but when i got to the old wing (Pantai actually bought over this hospital from Strand) for admission, i was shocked. not many has changed from the old set up.
even the toilet can't be flushed properly. you'd have to crank the level like a gazillion times before it is fully working. and to think that they didn't even change the toilet tiles to new ones. i was like... what?!?!?! plus, i had to be good friends with the toilet as taking in the FLEET meds made me do so. please, don't let me even begin my trauma in the toilet....
thank God i uber love my doctor. he is such a darling. and thank God that most of the nurses and staffs are friendly. but apart from that, Pantai has to do something before no one goes there. i mean come on, if i were in HSAH, the procedure that i went through has to be done in the operation theater. but in HPU, it was done in a former VIP room that was meant to accomodate a patient. and the waiting area for PAPs. it was just a tiny measly room that has torn down couches and no ventilation.
and we are paying for what actually? the price is the same as the privates in KL, which is by the way, alot better!!
