I, too, am Malay

Dear Miss Haliza Misbun,
Thank you for your call today. It really opened my eyes to who you really are. In life, I was thought that, to be respected, I should earn it. Therefore I am sure that that applies to everyone else in this world, including you, no less.

Your first words when you called in today, you said, "Hi, I am Haliza Misbun". Why must you mention yourself like that. It is as if you were trying to tell me that you were a huge diva that I should know. I was excited at first, no doubt, but as soon as you started using all that vulgarities against me, demanded an explanation, and then said that "I don't want to hear your f**king excuses", I was by then, flabbergasted.

Most of your words over the phone consisted of the F word. I was beginning to think, hmmm.... maybe your vocabulary is not as vast, therefore you resulted to using vulgarities.

You see Miss Haliza Misbun, I do not know that you have dealt earlier with other people here, I didn't know that you were waiting for people to call you, and of course, I didn't know that you were that rude. But I kept my calm and said that I would try my level best to solve this matter for you since you sounded rather impatient.

Yes, Miss Haliza Misbun, I am not as famous as you, not as experienced as you, but what I am is Miss Haliza Misbun, I am so much better than you. Not once in our conversation did I raise my voice or became sarcastic towards you because my mother has thought me better than that.

Yes, you are the customer and customer is always right. But it does not give you the rights to disrespect another human being.

Miss Haliza Misbun, please do not think that you are better than me because though I am temporarily there to pass time, I hold a better certification than you, I have a more respectable life than you, and best of all, I know not to be rude to anyone who does not deserve it.

With this, I shall reuse your parting notes to me today: "You have a good day."

Please, I, too am Malay. Do not let others think that we are rude. Because we aren't. We have adat.

Giving the finger

Spotted: A fashion retail guy, while at work, giving the finger to himself.

Clearly he was freaking bored because there were no customers at all to frequent the store that he is working in.

Gawsh, I can't even imagine doing that as a job. Waiting.... and waiting.... and waiting....

Round table

I was asked, am I not going to the talk. What talk? I wasn't invited.

Thank God for that.

The topic of discussion will only revolve around the worlds of 2 people, the most high in the hierarchy. The others will only be there as people who will only listen and their opinions don't matter at all.

What is the point anyway?

It is all about being pretentious and prodding into the lives of others, molding it into their ideas of ideal. Now, when did the king died to put you in his place to rule?

Delusion of grandiosity, that is a sickness by itself.

I spy with my pretty eyes

I never thought that I would actually see a whale in Malaysia. But I did....

Spotted: washed up white whale at the pool area of next door condo.

I survived to tell :P

I remember

I still remember that night, when you and her were discussing about me, about my future. Telling me the options, telling me what is best for me, oh, I'm sorry, telling me what you think is best for me.

You even secretly went through my personal files. Looking through my performances all those while. It was part of my mistake for leaving my stuffs around like that. But that was my house, I was allowed to do so. But as a guest, I am sure you would know better because you are older, and should have been wiser.

I looked up to you to help me just because my Mamak wasn't around. She was out in the world working her heart out to support all of her children, all on her own. She trusted you to give the best advise to me. She trusted you because you are the one that should have been the pillar to us all.

But then you told me, that I wasn't cut out for this. That I wasn't smart enough to give this a try, to give studying medicine a try. You even suggested another discipline that I have no idea of, that I have no interest of. You didn't trust me enough that I could do medicine.

Thank God I went against you.

Maybe I am not as smart as your children. Maybe I am not as confident as them. But let me tell you this, I am glad that I am not like them at all because now, they are just confused. They are being people who they are not deep inside. You know what, I pity them, and most of all, I pity you.

I have long forgiven you because everyone makes mistakes, especially adults like you who think that the world revolves around you. But I can never forget those words that you said to me that night: "I don't think you can do medicine because your results are not good"

It was a long journey for me. It wasn't like a bed of roses, which I thank God for because now, I truly appreciate what I have achieved and it has humbled me so much, Alhamdulillah.

I can only thank you for not believing in me because now, I have proven you wrong.

What a pity.

Finally

Finally......
I can wear this badge that my Mamak bought for me for my birthday last year. I can wear this badge and yeah, I can really mean it this time.

Alhamdulillah....
It was a long and hard journey, loads of pressure, loads of heart breaks. But I came out shining, just like the diamond that I am.

Thank you everyone who has been there for me :)

I will never forget you......

Finishing Line

I have run the 10,000 mile race with much support, much courage, and much determination. There were many obstacles that I had to go through to get to the finishing line. There were hard, but they made me stronger.

Now, it is just another 50m to the finishing line and I know I have tried my very best. I am leading this race right now.

But for some reason, suddenly I see, a huge wall of China just before the end of the race. This is not stopping my determination.

I am only human and can only try as much and push further.

Great wall of China, it is only a matter of time till I could climb over and finish this race.

I believe that finishing line is just a few days away.....

It hurts to hurt

Hurt: such a simple 4-letter word that has an impact worst than a meteorite hitting you.

I hate that feeling do much. Be it physically, emotionally, intellectually, hurt is just something that I don't really need.

But what is worse is when you feel hurt when you hurt someone else. Then you know that the person that you have hurt, means a whole lot to you.

That lingering feeling will not go away. The after taste that haunts you is worse than having durian for breakfast. No matter how they say it is not your fault, you know that you are wrong. And no matter how much you apologize, you know it is never enough to take the hurt that you have caused, away.

Shit, this hurts.
