Ar-Ryndeen

So, it has been another 4 months before i braved myself to go to the hairstylist. I have decided to change my stylists to a new one since I saw this saloon along Lebuhraya Sultanah Bahiyah.

I came with some pictures in my BBdevil as ideas of how i want my hair to be this time. We discussed and she went on to do her job. The way her hands move, the detail that she goes through, I'd say that she is a good stylist.

Apart from giving me a killer hairstyle now, she is such a doll and friendly. I would highly recommend her and would go again there anytime soon to retouch my hair :)

Anis Anggun Hair Salon

Finally, I did it. I took a drastic step to change my hair style. From the boring wavy and frizzy head of hair, I made it straight and super layered. Many love this do and I have my Mamak to thank for giving her full support.

Did it at a salon that not many know of. The salon is manned by the owner herself and she does not have any other workers. It is a small place, nothing like a hair studio, but it is definitely very customer friendly. It may not be as complete as major hair salons, but as long as I come out looking good, why should I complain, right?

The best part is that the rebonding starts from RM150 onwards and she uses Shiseido hair products. Anis Anggun Hair Salon also boasts that it has warranty that if after 3 days and the first hair wash is done, and the results turn to be not satisfactory, we can come back to her and she will do the whole process again for FREE! She will even SMS you to check the progress and satisfactory of her customers. How cool is that?

The salon is located in Taman PKNK, Alor Setar. If anyone is interested, please do call Anis herself at +60175087525. Tell her that Alia recommended her place :)

grandson: "grandpa, were you a hero in the war?"

grandpa: "no, grandpa wasn't a hero, boy. but i served in a company of heroes"

mooooo..... kau dengar tak bunyi lembu tu?

hari tu, lepas interview entrepreneur kat jalan sekerat, aku dan geng aku pun berangkat ke ananda bhavan, kedai makan india kat jalan ntah apa ntah, aku pun tak tahu. aku punya tahan perut hari tu pasal nak makan roti naan dan ayam tandoori kat AB malam tu. mengikut kata kawan2 aku, the tandoori chicken and roti naan di sana memang THE BOMB!!

sesampai kat kedai, aku pun order apa aku nak. minum pun air limau ais kurang manis, nak budget la juga kan. kang minum air kosong, tak standard pulak. si arul kawan aku neh, dia memang suka dairy products. macam2 minuman ke, makanan ke, yang dibuat dari susu lembu, dia memang pasti akan lahap punya. jadi, sebagai minuman dia untuk malam tu, dia order susu lembu segar.

dia suruh aku rasa, aku pun rasa la. mmm.... got milk? sedap juga la susu segar ni. pastu arul dok cerita la yang kat belakang kedai AB tu, derang ada bela lembu. so, bila customer nak, derang akan perah susu lembu tu freshly from the cow, panaskan susu tu untuk bunuh bacteria and serve it straight away to the customer. aku punya la tak percaya. aku rasa dia nak kelentong aku. siap dia soh aku bet lagi, kalau betul ada lembu kat belakang kedai AB tu, aku kena belanja satu table (mind, satu table tu ada 5 orang, makan pun boleh tahan). kalau tak, aku punya makan, derang belanja. mula2 aku dah nak amik bet tu, tapi bila arul macam dah nak panggil anne yang kerja kat AB tu and nak tanya pasal lembu tu, aku dah mula cuak. mau kopak poket aku kalau aku kalah bet. aku tak amik bet tu, aku yakin, memang ada lembu kat belakang kedai AB.

itu adalah 2 bulan lepas.

weekend lepas, masa encik tetamu aku datang, aku bawa dia pergi makan kat AB. punya la risau dia yang tempat tu tak halal. adoiyayy encik, takkan la aku nak bawa kamu pergi makan tempat tak halal kott. chillex lerr... so, anyway, lupakan kisah tu. aku pun cerita kat encik pasal apa yang arul cerita kat aku, pasal lembu tu. encik punya la gelak kat aku, kononnya aku kena tipu la apa la. aku cakap mana ada, memang iye, ada lembu kat belakang ni, derang bela untuk susu segarnya. encik pun ngada2 perli aku: "eh, awak dengar tak?"

REd: "apa?"

encik: "bunyi lembu"

REd: "blah la!!"

lepas makan, kami pun pulang. aku masih yakin kat belakang kedai AB tu ada lembu.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hari ini: pergi town ngan geng baru, tapi arul masih ada dalam geng tu. aku pun buka mulut tanya budak2 lain, betul ke ada lembu kat belakang kedai AB tu.

memang jadi bahan gelak la aku tadi.

jaga kau arul!!

kalau nak perut kempis, sila pergi tengok filem SETEM. tak payah nak bayar ribu2 kat sendayu tinggi. betul neh!

pernah tak dengar yang orang kata that laughing is a good excercise for the abdomen? tak pernah? well, sekarang korang dah tau kan, sebab aku bagitau ni kan.... tak caya? ok, baca ni.

GI Joe, pending. sebab nak pergi pasar malam la konon lepas tengok movie tu.

mula2 macam skeptical juga la. sebab panggung pun tak ramai orang. we were like "eh, tak best ke apa? takde orang neh??". but as soon as the movie started, people start piling in.

aku tak pernah pun tengok trailer movie ni. cuma masa tu, aku nampak poster dia kat one utama and then, eliea ada mention nak tengok movie ni. tapi tak sempat nak tengok while i was in KL. so, semalam la yang sempatnya.

aku tak nak cerita panjang. sebab nnt korang tak pergi tengok. nnt saper nak beli tiket? nnt saper nak bayar these people for their great movie?? tapi kan, baik korang pergi tengok la. i was laughing even after the movie ended. teringat kat the scenes, aku boleh gelak tak henti ni. encik yang teman aku tengok movie tu pun dah ingat aku tengah high ke apa... huhuhuh....

tak tipu.... lepas aku tengok movie ni, perut aku rasa ketat macam baru lepas pakai tali pinggang getar2 daripada OSIM tu (atau mungkin perut aku ketat sebab aku lapar sebenarnya??).

kabir bhatia, if you are reading this, i am giving you a gazillion out of 10 for this movie of yours!!! kudis kudos!!!

serious rugi arr ronggeng tak ikut hari neh

lepas dah puas nature walk and mencopet buah2 kat alang sedayu, we made our way home. aku pulak membuat panggilan sebab sepatutnya ada "the meet" dengan orang itu dan family kakaknya. ntah macam mana, we made it on time to meet them. and i brought with me my plus 2, sebagai para juri. the meeting place was the newly launched kueyteow doli restaurant in brunsfiled ttdi.

omg, jen, roz, dan aku sememangnya tak dress up for the occasion ok. bau masing2 pun ada samar2 bau orang asli (eh, macam la aku pernah bau orang asli kan?). dengan baju penuh pasir, aku ngan aku nyer "wet patch" kat seluar sebab pakai swimming suit yang basah, selamba je pergi launching resto tu. arrrggghhhh lantak. kata kita selamba kan.

sampai2, we were seated at the table where they were already seated. there were so many people. order macam tak ingat, and the food kept on coming. aku tak makan sangat because i was too bz playing with the new bPod face, khalis. sangat comel kan. nasib arr dia nak kat orang.

anyway, kalau korang nak makan kat resto ni, dia nyer specality mmg la kueyteow kan. but also, do try the mee rebus or nasi ayam. dengar kata mmg sangat sedap.

we didn't see the menu, so tak tahu apa lagi boleh order.

thanks to roz and jenna for coming along. you guys rawk!! len kali kita gi lagi k???

a walk in a park is not actually a walk in a park, more like a gruelling session of calorie burning in a park (for some people that is).

omg, aku sangat suka nature ok. aku ni simple aja. takyah nak susah2. asal kau bawa aku pergi jalan2 kat nature, aku dah happy macam budak dapat makan aiskrim bantal.

so, hari selasa aku pergi sungai gabai. pernah dengar tak? tak pernah kan?? kan?? sila salahkan diri sendiri sebab tak buat research ok. tempat itu mmg AWESOME ok. walau la we all sesat sampai dua kali, the trip was worth it. kalau malas nak workout sket untuk panjat bukit gabai tu, sila tak payah pergi. tempat tu mmg kena panjat bukit punya. baru la adventure kan. but bila dah sampai atas, owhh... sangat puas hati. so, we all lepak kat satu spot ni, kira ok la juga. nasib tak ramai orang, ada la geng ahbengs kat sana kan. mana tau, tetiba ahbengs tu frenly la pulak. siap cabar lagi untuk turun slide kat batu tu. aku mula2 takut la kan. mana tak, batu dowh! silap tarikh, boleh pecah kepala. but one ahbeng told me: "don't think, just go". uuuuu.... sangat wise ok. aku pun kosongkan otak aku (yang mmg agak empty sebenarnya), and swwwooooshhhh..... slide turun. bengkak pungkok juga arr... adoiyayy...

hari selasa pulak, patutnya pergi bukit cahaya. tapi sebab aku dah pergi ngan yah early this year, aku decided nak pergi FRIM cause mmg teringin sangat nak pergi canopy walk dia sebenarnya and also go around the park. after much round2 the mulberry bush, baru la kami jumpa parking and started our journey. nasib ada orang tu baca papan tanda, aku main redah aja. sebab dia baca papan tanda punya pasal, we all turun balik and beli tickets untuk naik canopy walk tu. ingatkan from the start of the hill to the entrance to the hike up tu tak jauh, sekali, amik ko! ada barang 30mins juga la nak masuk ke entrance tu. bila dah sampai at the foot of the hill, kena daki lagi 50m up to get to the walkway. aku yang tak biasa semput ni, dah menitik2 dah peluh. bawa bag sarat lagi ngan barang picnic. tapi takpe cause once we got ourselves on the walkway, penat semua dah hilang. sangat breathtaking ok.

kalau ada yang gayat, sila jangan naik arr.

aku macam biasa arr nak main2 kat walkway tu kan, lompat2 and sway the walkway. kui kui kui ada orang takut tu... ntah apa apa ntah. bila sampai kat each platform, ada info that we can read about what we are looking at. sebelum naik walkway tu, ada papantanda yang soh senyap kan, so that we can see wildlife kat sana. but geng yang after us tu, adoiyayy, memekak macam orang pekak. bukan kata binatang, orang pun boleh lari la dengar suara derang.

cuma yang slack pasal canopy walk neh, pendek naa jarak dia... tak puas arr.

info:
-last trip kat walkway tu adalah pukul 1330hrs. kalau lambat, sila takyah panjat bukit tu pun.
harga tiket: rm5 untuk dewasa
rm3 untuk student (tapi ada orang lupa la pulak kami students... ish)
rm1 untuk kanak2
-lokasi starting point to canopy walk: cari masjid FRIM. haaa... kat belakang masjid tu la
-kalau semput, sila batalkan niat nak naik. mmg gerenti tak larat nyer.

tapi, kalau nak pergi, ajak la aku ekk :P

antara setan, si mati, dan cinta

hari ni pergi outing ngan yah. sangat tak tahu apa nak buat so, we decided to pergi tgk movie. kami pergi OU (mana lagi la kan?). mula2 pergi kat GSC, new wing. survey la tgk cerita apa ada. kami nak tgk "confessions of a shopaholic (ye, mmg outdated gila...), tapi the show kat GSC starts at 2345hours!! takde kerja nak tunggu macam tu punya lama. kami kat situ pun baru kul 1620hours. so, we walked over to TGV, survey tgk ada cerita apa. sedang yah tgk ada movie apa, aku nyer mata terpaku la pada trailer yang sedang playing. nampak macam gerun....

cerita ni cerita indon. tajuk dia "setan budeg", and "budeg" meaning "pekak" (pada saper yang tak cakap indon la kan). aku tgk trailer ni, aku rasa part yang dia nak kejut mayat kat morgue untuk minta tolong sebab dia tgh takut tu, aku rasa part tu sangat la kelakar, i was laughing like mad. then, yah tgh cakap apa ntah kat aku, pastu dia ciao beli ice cream. so, as i was left alone to decide nak tgk apa, aku baca la synopsis the now showing movies. sambil2 baca tu, aku tahan nak gelak...adoiyayy.... gelak teringat kat trailer hantu pekak ni. but before i burst out laughing and risk people thinking of me as crazy, i walked away. kaki jalan ke mana, mata ke mana, i nearly crashed into yah, yang tgh sibuk makan ice cream. nasib tak langgar. mau nangis guling2 dia kalau ice cream dia jatuh.

but in another note: aku nak tgk movie ni.

lepas much hesitation, we decided to go back to GSC. beli ticket and then tunggu untuk movie start. korang tau kan kat new wing tu ada arcade? aku ni bukan la gamers, but there is this one particular game yang i cannot pass.

HOTD 4. korang leh tanya yah arr. i was palpitating. and aku main serious penuh semangat. sampai berpeluh2. and let me tell you, that was a good workout!! hehhe aku pun tak tahu kenapa yang aku berpeluh sangat. habis kuyup baju aku. yah pun tanya "ieee...why are you sweating like this?" ntah, aku pun takde jawapan. but i guess cause aku terlalu teruja kott main game ni. dah la lama tak main kan. some more aku pair sama abang gamers kat situ, nak kena tunjuk skill la sket. yang best tu, lepas first stage, aku dapat "excellent", abang gamers tu dapat "not bad" :8) (djambu, pinjam smiley arr). so, pada saper2 yang berkenaan (djambu puadovich), ada beran ke nak lawan?

lepas main game tu, aku tgk tangan aku menggigil. sekali fikir balik, owh, aku tgh lapar rupanya. aku pun pergi la cari sth to chow. sementara tu, yah main la game2 yang sangat takde adventure. game tinju sama game percussions.

jadi, apa la movie yang kami tgk?

movie ni. ermm.. aku suggest la kan, takyah tgk kat movies arr. lain arr kalau gi sama couple kan, then, ok la. kalau takde movie nak tgk, jgn arr choose ni. dah la lnengthy (2jam 15min), dia nyer storyline takde climax. very plateau-like. aku keep on criticizing the movie ada la. ada arr part2 yang kelakar. tapi tak banyak pun. yang best, ada scarlett johanson. i like her. i don't know what exactly about her that i like, but she's like uma thurman tau. there's sth about them that i can't point out, but i like.

after the movie, we had to rush home. yah had sth to do. tapi sempat arr singgah kat fresh mart, beli bahan sikit nak masak. sebab dah 2 malam aku janji nak masak chinese chicken stew, and malam semalam, i finally made it. chef yah kata sedap... :8) (sekali lagi djambu, pinjam ye). nak tangkap gambar pun tak sempat sebab masing2 dah lapar tahap gaban. habis arr yah makan. well, nak kata apa kan, selain dari asam pedas (kesukaan jo-ee), bubur kacang (kesukaan aku), chinese chicken stew is another one of my specialities. saper nak merasa, meh arr.

sorry aku takde recipe. sebab aku masak ikut cara nenek segamat dan arwah nenek picai aku masak: main campak aja

Fabric Softener

5 extraordinary uses for fabric softener:

  1. End clinging dust on your tv -> to eliminate the static cling that attracts dust, simply dampen your dust cloth with fabric softener straight from the bottle and dust as usual.
  2. Remover old wallpaper -> stir one capful of liquid softener into one litre of water and sponge the solution onto the wallpaper. Let is soak in for 20 minutes, then scrape the paper from the wall. If the wallpaper has a water-resistant coating, score it with a wire-bristle brush first.
  3. Keep paintbrushes pliable -> after using a brush, clean the bristles thoroughly and rinse them in a can full of water with a drop of liquid fabric softener mixed in. then wipe the bristles dry and store.
  4. Untangle and condition hair -> liquid fabric softener diluted in water and applied after shampooing can untangle and condition hair. Experiment with the amount of conditioner to match it to the texture of your hair; a weaker solution for fine hair and a stronger solution for coarse hair. (i actually tried this and yeah, it does work!! infact my hair stays soft, much softer than a normal hairconditioner would do!)
  5. Remove hard-water stains -> dab full-strength liquid fabric softener onto the stains and let it soak for ten minutes. Then wipe the softener and stain the glass with a damp cloth and rinse.

Gua Tempurung

this is another trip that was done with prior planning that went haywire, which made us 'go-with-the flow'. in the end, we had crazy fun.

the initial plan was to accomodate 5 of us. but because kings can't make it, we had to let her go and continued with the journey. the finalization of the trip was made just a few short hours before the journey actually took place. i was stoked. i didn't really sleep that night and i got up at 0500hours to pack my things since this journey too will take me back to kedah.

we started the journey to perak half an hour later than the estimated time. i was worried already. afraid that the timing would not fall into place. we made several pitstops along the way, taking our time to reach perak and refreshing ourselves, now and again. although i have travelled that same road many times to go up north, when i was with my closest friends in the car, it felt different. the scenery looked more beautiful, the road seems more free, the company was just amazing.

we decided on the trip up to stop at Gua Tempurung. it was really on impulse. eliea wanted to go there, i wanted adventure, ain wanted to be safe, rozel was ok with anything. as soon as we reached there, we found out that the last trip into the cave has already started. initially we weren't allowed in as the last entrance for trip 4 is at 1100hours. but after much sap stories and almost begging, we were lead in by a ranger to join the last group.

we entered the cave with adrenaline rushing through the roof. the first few metres, we had to do it in a fast pace, in order to catch up. i was already running my way up the steep steps. knee problem (yes, my knee was killing me)? what knee problem? after 5 mins of running, we joined the said group.

the first part of the journey was fairly easy. walking through paved pathways, nothing much to it. we saw some weird rock formations, we stood at the only spot in the cave that had wind flowing. that spot is so cool. sometimes, the wind is too strong that it could reach up to 100km/h. we went to the highest point of the cave that overlooked a pitch black, somewhat endless bottom. the ranger that was guiding us was explaining the facts of the cave. i wasn't listening, naturally. i was too bz taking in the greatness of God seen in nature. it was too much for me to handle at that moment.

after the end of the first half, we were lead out into an opening where we were allowed to take in some sunlight and rest. i was too pumped that the rest made me jittery and i wanted to continue on. but it's ok. the time was then used for shutterbugging, posing crazy, and laughing our hearts away. after about 15mins, we were lead back into the cave to start the 2nd half.

the second half was crazy fun albeit a little dangerous. but with the guidance of the skilled ranger, we were in safe hands. we climbed up the rocks, we walked in streams, we crawled on earth and in water, we slid down walls of rocks, we went in holes, and all that. bumps and bruises and scraping of skin were taking place in full throttle. but that does not deter our spirits. what did deter the spirits of rozel and ain was that the soles of their shoes came off during the journey through the cave and they were utterly pissed by it. of course they do because it is not easy to walk barefoot on those rocks and stones. but they made it through anyways. hontonii sugoi!

we spent 5 hours (some of the time idling due to the previous groups infront of us) in the cave. 5 crazy fun hours. this is something that i can cross of my list of 'things to do before i die'. would i do it again? of course!! this is just a survey round so that next time, i would come prepared. or maybe, next time, i shall try another cave?

of course i would!

p/s: hey you, you coming?

Bukit Cahaya Shah Alam

after a little over 2 weeks of not doing anything during this long holiday of mine, finally today, i convinced yah to go hiking with me at bukit cahaya, shah alam. the actual plan was, i was supposed to go there with my girlfriends. but due to some circumstances (they are always busy!!), that plan never took place. so, instead of waiting, i decided to take matters into my own hands and go ahead with yah.

i did a little homework online last night of what things we can do there. at first i thought we can't make it today because they are closed on mondays. but thank God today is a public holiday, which means regardless of it being a monday, they are open for business, in my word that would mean fun!

i actually wanted to go do my routine jogging in the morning today before we left for bukit cahaya. but because my bad knee was begging for me not to, i didn't make the jog. i was awake really early this morning, and i was left with nothing to do but wait for yah to wake up and wait some more for the exact time to go because the park opens only at 8am. as soon as i made a confirmation call with the park that it is open today, we started our journey.

bukit cahaya shah alam (BCSA) is located somewhere near seksyen 9. thank God for my frequent travel over to that area a few years back, i could locate the place with not much problems. we used the trunk road from kota damansara to shah alam, passing the RRIM and the new GCE highway. it took us about 20mins to reach there (would have been faster if i were really sure of the road. see, from the last i drove there, the roads has changed tremendously!).

there were not many people when we reached BCSA. as stated, the initial plan was to hike. but because yah wanted to cycle so much, we rented a bike each. we got the simple bikes that costs RM3 for 1st hour and RM1 for subsequent 1 hour (the newer ones cost RM5 for 1st hour and RM1 for subsequent 1 hour. it does not make any difference actually, just more nicer looking). yah got her bike perfectly fine, except that she wanted her seat to be higher. mine however, had some problems with the pedals. so, after an exchange with a better bike took place, we spun our hearts out (gila gian nak naik basikal ok).

we were so excited when we cycled through the park. went to the animal farm, passed the waterhole, passed the village, went to the orchid farm, and many more. we didn't stop long at each spot as we were too excited to cycle and explore. the roads weren't easy, to say the least. the were many hills that we had to climb with the bikes. at first, we challenged ourselves to keep on cycling. but when the lactic acid starts to accumulate, we pushed the bikes instead. remember my buckled knee? well, when i was having fun, i couldn't care. pain or not, i want to challenge my stamina. so instead of walking and pushing the bike uphill, i ran. i even had a "baby jog" up the hill at the orchid garden. call me crazy, but it was really fun.

after about an hour and a half cycling, yah couldn't take it anymore. she was practically begging to find the exit and return the bikes. i wanted to continue as there were many other areas that we haven't covered. but seeing that she was tired, we returned the bike. i wanted to get on the park bus and just have a motorized tour of the park, be a shutterbug. yah didn't share the same enthusiasm. she wanted to go home. and so.... to home we went.

it was a short trip but a definitely fun and enjoyable one. i was already planning in my head of what to do there if i ever go again the next time. i want to trek and hike in the forest, have a picnic, try my hands at fishing, skytrex, et cetera.

lucky for us, yah was wearing her calorie counter thingy (i so don't know the name of that thingamajig). we burned 800kCals each today doing something that we like. better than my morning jog, better than her gym regiment.

so, who says burning cals was that hard, eh?

p/s: ma, i want that calorie counting thingamajig too. please?
pp/s: you, you know who you are. want to go there with me?
ppp/s: if anyone can recommend other nature parks around KL/SEL, that'll be great! thanks!

Malays Forget Easily

i don't usually read this kind of book. but because i was really curious and i was in a hurry to grab something to keep me company for my train ride back to SP the other day, this was the first that found its way into my bag.

ok, so this book was published more than 8 years ago and, yeah, i am so damn backwards to be reading it now. but i beg to differ.

this book is composed based on the compilation of speeches and talks that were addressed by our former prime minister, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. although it is based on many parts, the way it was written was very fluid that one section will immediately follow suite with the next section. and some were repeated, not because there weren't enough matters to write about, but more like a reminder.

so, we all know that i am not politically inclined. why am i reading this? as i said, i am a curious person, and i wanted to know exactly why malays forget easily. which is, by the way, rather evident among most (not all) malays nowadays.

hate me all you want, but whatever that is written in here, regarding the ways that malays forget and why they forget, i agree with. because it is true and i have the almost the same opinion. i mean, i have been discussing some of the matters written in this book with my friends, not knowing that there are people out there who share the same thoughts.

i finished reading it in slightly over an hour. it is not a put-downer (for me). infact, it woke me up. i don't want to be the malay that forgets.

i think you should read it too. it is rather intriguing.

Hokutolite: i slept in a coffin today

so, my plan to watch 'LOS dan FAUN' went down the drain (yet again) today. i don't know why, today i felt so disorganized. like something is missing, like i want to do so many things but i can't, like i want to study but nothing is going in. and then, there it was, an offer that i can't resist. an offer made by mama to go and have a little spa treatment. i couldn't say 'no' to that, can i?

with my mind wandering, i just went to the spa centre with mama and nana. amazingly, this place is like 5 mins drive from our home. hmmm... i am so going to take a walk there tomorrow.

it is a cozy little corner near lorong datuk sulaiman, TTDI (no 31, lorong datuk sulaiman, TTDI). we were welcomed with a tiny zen-like garden outside the premise. where you can actually sit while waiting for your ride. or if you feel like just having a cuppa there, you are most welcome.

as we entered, the ambience just hit you right in the calm center of your brain, like a light-weight feather stroking your face while you are about to sleep. no, i am not exagerrating. really, the surrounding is very welcoming and you feel like the spa treatment has already started.

the 2 petit ladies attended to me immediately. maybe because i was the only customer at that time, or maybe, they are actually very pleasant. immediately, i was asked to sit at the rest area and was given a tumbler of water to drink (i must finish this drink). and then there was this form that i had to fill in. i was like: 'gawsh!! this is even more daunting than sitting for an exam!" .from where i was sitting, i could see the hot-stone 'coffins' in the darkened room. my heart was racing, mainly due to the excitement, not the anxiety.

i was told to change into a kimono, minus everything else. everything meaning all my jewelleries, as well as undies. so, i was left with the kimono only as my second skin. comfortable and cute, i might add. as soon as i was done changing, my phone on silent (i was told to do so), the lady asked me to lie in one of the heated 'coffins'. still skeptical, i lay myself on the bed made of stones and a piece of towel. amazingly, it wasn't that bad. i thought the pebbles will be poking me in all the wrong places, but i could say that i was comfortable lying on them.

she closed the coffin and she said: "i am going to leave you for 30mins. if you cannot take the heat, push the lid down, below your heart level. and if you feel that you need a drink, you can have this drink here"

REd:"ok"

i lay there. silent. the only sound that i heard was....nothing actually. i wasn't that sleepy. but what can i do for the next 30mins? tried to take a nap. still can't. mama said that i will be sweating like mad. 10mins, i am still as dry as a desert. i kept on dozing off for like a minute and i will be awake again. until i assume the 15th minute, i could feel the sweat dripping off from each and every sweat glands that are on my body. it felt like i was melting. like tiny ants making their way on my skin. i couldn't sleep anymore. the heat was getting to me. but still tolerable as i have a very high threshold of tolerance to pain, heat, and hurt.

30mins, the buzz went off. along came the lady and: "ok aaaa, now you turn and lie face down. put your hands out to the side. ok aaa. i will leave you for 10mins more ok. see, you are sweating alot. sudah lama tak sweat aaa...."

REd (dalam hati): "kepala hotak kau. baru je hari ahad lepas aku body combat. hari khamis lepas aku jogging to absolution. boleh perah peluh lagi".

10 more mins face down. by then, my face was already drenched in sweat, my kimono felt like it just got out from the washer.

and the buzzer went off again. she told me to get up slowly and sit. my heart beating fast. my sweat was still dripping. she was saying somethings. i saw her mouth moving, but i could not articulate what the hell she was saying. heat stroke maybe (yes, i am exagerrating).

then, she brought me again to the sitting area. served me a cup of piping hot ginger-screwpine leave-lemongrass tea. that was delicious. after drinking that, i sweat even more. and i was left to cool down. it felt like i just ran a 30km marathon (like as if i had....).

so, there you go. after sleeping in the 'coffin' i felt alive again!! honestly, i felt more alert, more awake. weird ain't it? i thought once you sleep in a coffin, you'd be dead. but not here, not in Reflection Spa.

here are some of the benefits of this treatment:
  • activation of the autonomic nervous system
  • reduces water retention
  • anti-aging
  • improves bowel movement
  • boosts and strengthens immunity system
  • regulating hormonal functions
  • dissolves body fat, slimming and detoxification
  • reduces cholesterol level and reduces swelling
  • increases muscle strength, vitality, and mental stability
  • increases oxygen and nutrients in cells
  • improves and speeds up metabolism
  • improves blood circulation and balance blood pressure
  • improves stress tolerance
  • balances blood sugar levels

seriously, i went jogging today, after the treatment. i ran the same distance that i ran before. and i checked my time. today, i ran faster. sugoi!
